The MemberDay Public Website Builder helps create websites using content blocks. Content blocks are modular units of content in website builders. They're drag-and-drop elements that users can customize and arrange to create web pages without coding. These blocks offer flexibility, responsiveness, and pre-designed templates, making website creation intuitive and efficient.

Standard Content Blocks Versus Customizable Content Blocks

Using standard content blocks in a website builder saves time, as they are pre-designed and easy to integrate without advanced skills. They maintain consistency across your site, are optimized for responsiveness, and come with updates and support. However, custom content blocks allow for unique design, branding, and advanced functionality tailored to specific needs. The choice depends on your requirements for ease of use and design flexibility.

Standard Content Blocks Tips

  • Standard Content Blocks are added to your webpage by clicking the "+ Content" icon in the left menu.

  • If you see a Standard Content Block that works for your needs, adding a standard content block is fast and easy.

  • When looking for Standard Content Blocks, make sure to scroll down in the options columns - many categories have numerous great options that are down further on the option list.

  • With Standard Content Blocks you can DELETE elements. You CANNOT add or move elements in a Standard Content Block. Also, if you delete an element from a Standard Content Block you will not be able to add the element back into the block.

  • If you 'mess up' the content block, sometimes it's best (and faster)  to create a new content block and start again.

  • If you don't find a layout that works for your needs, you may consider creating a customizable content block.
