Downloading Photos From a Photo Gallery

Many clubs like to post photos from events on their club website (public website) so that event-goers can download a photo as a momento of their experience. This article will explain how to download a photo from the photo gallery.

Last updated on 29 Oct, 2025

Currently, the way to download a photo from the Photo Gallery on the public website is not very intuitive.*

The web builder platform assembles the gallery using links. Whereas with other pages on your website, a viewer can simply right-click on an image to download, with the Photo Gallery, the options provided when right-clicking are not overly intuitive and also vary by browser.

  • From Safari, when right clicking on a photo in a gallery, it gives and option 'Download linked file' or Download linked file as'.

  • From Chrome, when right clicking on a photo in a gallery, it gives an option 'Save link as'.

Work Around

In the meantime, consider adding a content block with simple instructions for folks wanting to download a photo.

See below for a suggestion:

  1. Click "+Content" icon in the left navigation menu.

  2. Select the first option under "Content".

  3. Move the content block to above the photos.

  4. Delete the header in the new content block (if not needed) and add in the instructional text. Here is sample text that you can copy, tweak or you can create your own:

"The photos below are linked files. To download a photo for personal use, simply navigate to the desired gallery, click on the specific photo you wish to download, and then right-click. From the options that appear, select 'Download link' or 'Save link,' depending on your browser."

  5. Adjust the Default Block Settings as needed. Remember to click "Save".

*We have contacted the developer about this and we'll see if they are able to make a change so that downloading photos is more intuitive.
