Difference Between the Member Portal & the Public Website Builder

This article explains what MemberDay is and the difference between the Member Portal and the Public Website Builder.

For clubs and groups familiar with Portalbuzz, MemberDay offers a unique approach. Unlike Portalbuzz, which featured an integrated password-protected member portal attached to a public website, MemberDay comprises two distinct components:

Member Portal

The member portal is:

  • a secure, password-protected area for managing club operations, including membership, meetings/events, volunteers, files, attendance, and soon, dues billing.

  • an online portal where members can access information about club activities, sign up to volunteer, and more.

  • similar to the private, password-protected member portal of Portalbuzz, but with enhanced features.

Your club can opt to use the member portal independently of the public website builder. If your current website builder serves your needs, that's fantastic!

Members will log in to the MemberDay portal to access their information. Many clubs link the member portal from their public website to make it easy for members to remember how to get to the portal.

The MemberDay.com website is built using the public website builder!

The Public Website Builder is:

  • a separate offering that provides clubs with an intuitive, modern website builder for creating a professional-looking site.

  • based upon a content block structure that makes creating and editing your website easy, but also more flexible and powerful than older word-processing-type builders.

  • easy to use. However, when you do have questions the MemberDay team offers robust support to help you set up your website. Upon signup, your site will be partially configured with a template to kickstart your design.

Only designated website administrators will have a unique username and password for accessing, creating, and editing the public website builder.

Note: The website comes with a pre-formatted link to the portal login page, simplifying access for members.
