Adding SMTP Server to Public Website

How to setup SMTP credentials in the public website builder

To use certain functions in the public website builder (like Newsletter sending) a custom SMTP server will need to be added. It is recommended to use a club Gmail account for that, which many clubs have. Follow these instructions to do so:

  1. Log in to the club Gmail account

  2. In the URL paste this in: https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords

  3. Generate a new app password

  4. Go into the public website builder

  5. Go to Settings > General Settings > Method for sending emails

  6. Select SMTP and enter the following:

    1. SMTP Hostname: smtp.gmail.com

    2. SMTP Port: 465

    3. SMTP Username: [club Gmail address]

    4. SMTP Password: New app password created in #3 above

    5. SSL Connection: Checked

That should be it. After setting that up try sending a newsletter.
